Simmons Manufacturing Company was founded in 1957 by Robert Engeman (“Mr. E”). The family business grew steadily thanks to Mr. E and his team, especially Bobby Russell, who headed up sales. Together they did the hard work of introducing Simmons’ quality products to the water well industry and earned a reputation for reliability.

Mr. E was succeeded by his son and namesake, Robert Engeman Jr. (“Bob”). Bob successfully grew Simmons’ market reach and expanded its reputation for dependable water well products coupled with top-tier service. He led Simmons Manufacturing to a whole new level, building on the hard work of his father.

In 2021, Bob sold Simmons to SpringTide Holdings Inc., and West Soward became the new President. Bob’s son, Robert Engeman III, played a key role in ensuring a smooth leadership transition with his extensive knowledge of products and the water well industry as a whole. Since taking the helm, West has focused on facility renovations, new CNC tooling machines with upgraded automation features, and the implementation of a new ERP system.

Almost 70 years after its founding, West and his team are determined to secure another century of success for Simmons Manufacturing. We purpose to honor the history of this company and the great efforts of the men and women who worked so hard to build a legacy of excellence.
